Role: Preconstruction Manager, Winter 2017

  • Consolidated and streamlined reporting process for projects within Production, Workplace and Retail groups
  • Provided preconstruction services and prepared presentation materials for project funding approval

 

KATERRA

Series C start-up redefining the construction industry

Role: MBA Intern, Summer 2016

  • Designed and built a cost model to compare traditional construction to Katerra’s process; positive results validated unit economics and provided framework to determine how roadmap should be prioritized
  • Presented results and analysis to entirety of senior management team, led the ensuing process expansion

 

ALIGN REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT

Real Estate firm focused development in the Bay Area

Role: Intern, Summer 2015

  • Managed the construction of 120 apartments, $45MM in the SOMA district of San Francisco
  • Created and updated pro formas, updated capital partners monthly, drafted reports and contracts,
  • Coordinated with architects, designers, and consultants to streamline city approval and reduce costs

 

RUDOLPH AND SLETTEN

General contractor with $1B in revenue; commercial, public, and healthcare projects

Role: Senior Cost Engineer, 2013 – 2015

  • Managed buyout team of five as lead estimator of $110MM retrofit of 300,000 SF facility, including a 70,000 SF cleanroom; negotiated $25MM expansion of work upon award
  • Managed $100MM and eight trades of the $500MM San Diego Central Court buyout, coming in 5% under budget; will be the largest courthouse in CA when completed
  • Prepared schematic, conceptual, and construction estimates with an emphasis on value engineering

 

Role: Cost Engineer, 2012 – 2013

  • Drafted instructions to bidders, evaluated and prepared estimates, interviewed subcontractors to identify bid coverage, missing scope and qualifications
  • Exposed to hard bid, negotiated and design-build work in both public and private job settings
